“The silence that emerges from a work of art is called a symphony”

JIMÉNEZ DEREDIA

When Deredia’s sculptures stopped me in my tracks, I hesitated to lift my camera—felt like taking something not mine. But these spheres, bold in the open, invite every gaze, dust and all. I believe it’s okay to photograph public art if you honor its spirit. My photos aim to capture the awe of Deredia’s creations, not claim them. Browse this gallery to see his timeless forms through my lens and feel the quiet power of those ancient Boruca spheres.

I hope my humble representation of his work meets Deredia’s approval if he stumbles onto my page one day.
